💃 As flamenco was “brought inside,” it quickly became an organized dance form like ballet. Business men saw the commercial potential and began promoting flamenco dance groups, singers and musicians to theater audiences worldwide.
💃 Over the decades, flamenco dance and music have been elevated to professional and academic status.
💃 Today, flamenco is very much influenced by pop, rock and jazz music. Artists such as the late Roció Jurado, greatly contributed to adding a big dose of elegance and “Hollywood” to the genre. The Gypsy Kings brought flamenco to the international masses.
